Inspections

Inspections

The New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) requires inspections be done on properties for certain situations.  Some common inspections include the following:

  • Final Inspection - a final inspection is required after all work has been completed.  A final inspection can be performed by DOB itself or a licensed professional such as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.  Once this inspection is complete the job is ready for Letter of Completion.

  • Special Inspection - a special inspection is a technical inspection to be done on only certain applications deemed necessary.  Special inspectors are licensed professionals with additional certifications and strict registration protocols to follow.

  • DOB Inspections - The Department of Buildings requires inspections to lift Stop Work Orders, Withdraw Permitted Applications, follow up on building complaints, and many other instances.

We work alongside licensed professionals who can perform many of the required inspections that go with alteration projects.
